The East Coast Discovery Pass is available for 1 or 2 months
unlimited travel on Countrylink and Queensland Rail East coast services in one
direction only, either North or South, between the locations endorsed on the Pass.
Use of the pass must begin within six months of the date of
issue and be completed within six months from the first validity date (first
date of travel). The pass is available on Mainline Countrylink and Queensland
Rail East coast rail and integrated coach services only. Travel on Sydney City
Rail services is only allowed in conjunction with a connecting Countrylink
service. Travel is not available on Brisbane CityTrain, Melbourne Met or V-Line
services.

Economy seating on Countrylink and Queensland Rail services

students/backpackers/children.
Passengers are requested to arrive at their first station of
travel at least 90 minutes prior to departure to have their Voucher exchanged
for a Pass and validated for travel. Pass exchange stations for the East Coast
Discovery Pass are: Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns and Townsville.
Pre-booking for all trains is required at least 24 hours in

As many of Countrylink and Queensland Rail's services are
heavily patronised year round, pre-booking is compulsory and to ensure you
obtain maximum value from your pass, you are strongly advised to reserve space
on as many rail sectors as possible before arrival in Australia or as soon as
possible before travel.
Unused passes receive a refund and must be returned the
issuing office to process. The refund will be subject to 20% cancellation
charges. An additional admin fee will also be charged. Once the pass has been
validated (first leg travelled) or lost, no refund is issued.
