Booking your Britrail Scottish Highlands Pass

This pass allows for 4 days of second-class travel within an 8-day period and is only available to travellers from outside the UK. One fantastic alternative is the BritRail Spirit of Scotland Pass, which offers 4 travelling days in one 8-day period; alternatively chose 8 days of travel inside a 15-day period.

Using your BritRail Scottish Highlands Pass

The BritRail Scottish Highlands Pass can be used over a wide area of northern Scotland. It is valid on a number of ScotRail services, including Glasgow-Oban/Fort William/Mallaig and Inverness-Aberdeen. Both Fort William and Inverness are excellent starting points for a visit to the famous Loch Ness.

At Oban and Mallaig you can take ferries to Mull and Skye. Mull is famous for the colourful village of Tobermory, while Skye is the home of the Old Man of Storr and Dunvegan Castle. With your pass, travel on the Caledonian MacBrayne services that run to these islands is free. You can also enjoy a 20% discount on certain Northlink Ferries. For areas of the Scottish Highlands that aren’t served by rail services, you can travel by coach.
