Italian Strike Update: 15th - 16th December 2011

We have been advised that strike action will take place in Italy, starting at 21:00hrs on Thursday 15th until 21:00hrs on Friday 16th December 2011.

We have been advised that the cross boarder France - Italy TGV services will be affected. The details are as follows:

Friday 16th December 2011

  • TGV 9241, 9245 & 9249 (Paris -> Turin/Milan) will terminate in Modane. Passengers will be transported by bus to their onwards destination in Italy.

TGV 9240, 9244 et 9248 (Milan/Turin -> Paris) will start in Modane. Passengers with tickets valid for travel from a TGV France-Italy Italian station will be transported by bus to Modane, when they can pick up the TGV they are booked to travel on.

Only passengers with tickets valid to travel on a TGV France-Italy service on 16th December will be permitted to travel on the replacement bus services.

After-Sales

Customers with tickets valid to travel on the above disrupted services can get a full refund regardless of the after-sales conditions stated on the ticket if they opt not to travel. Passengers in possession of a return ticket, where one leg of the journey is due to take place during the strike, can obtain a full refund on both the outbound and inbound legs of their journey.
