The Canadian

The Canadian is our best known route and one of the worlds greatest rail journeys.
The Canadian Operates between Toronto and Vancouver (and vice versa), the Canadian operates three times a week in each direction, year round.
There's plenty to do on board, with observation, dining and activity cars and you can book a comfortable reclining seat, a section, or a bedroom the choice is yours.
Make your own history as you retrace the western transcontinental route that, early last century, opened the west and created a bond of steel that redefined this amazing nation.
Depart Vancouver on this three day and night journey and explore Canada's diversity in comfort and style as you head through the majestic Rockies to big-sky country and on to the enchanting lakes and forests of Ontario before arriving in energetic Toronto. The Canadian is scheduled to ensure daylight viewing of the Rockies so that you get the best views, also the train stops off en-route to allow you to stretch your legs in places such as Sioux Lookout, Winnipeg, Edmonton etc.
Alternatively why not break your journey somewhere along the route - Jasper maybe to explore the Rockies. Or if feeling really adventurous why not arrange for the train to stop at a pre-determined point and push your canoe from the baggage car straight into one of the pristine lakes en-route.
This spectacular three day journey, one of the Worlds truly great rail journeys, offers some of the most breathtaking scenery found anywhere in the world. From the serenity of the Muskoka Lakes to the stunning beauty of the Canadian Rockies and the vast expanse of the prairie grasslands, you'll experience a portrait of the geographic diversity that is so uniquely Canadian.
As you travel from town to town you can sense the mosaic of cultures that have shaped the country through the centuries and the character of a nation whose identity is as colourful as the land itself.
