The East Coast Discovery Pass allows 6 months Economy Class Seat travel on Countrylink and Queensland Rail services in one direction only, either North or South, with unlimited stopovers between the locations endorsed on the ticket.

Use of this pass must begin within six months of the date of issue and be completed within six months from the first validity date (first date of travel). The pass is available on Mainline Countrylink and Queensland Rail, East Coast Rail and Integrated Coach services only. Travel on Sydney City Rail services is only allowed in conjunction with a connecting Countrylink service. Travel is not available on Brisbane CityTrain, Melbourne Met or V-Line services. Travel is permitted on the Cairns Tilt Train on payment of a surcharge. Reservations are compulsory and, as many of Countrylink and Queensland Rail's services are heavily patronized year round, arranging reservations as far in advance as practical will ensure maximum benefit from the Pass. Economy seating on Countrylink and Queensland Rail services can be upgraded to first class seating or sleeper cabins, subject to availability and relevant surcharges.

New additions to the East Coast Discovery Pass are:

• Coach connections to Hervey Bay/Fraser Island, Yeppoon, Airlie Beach/Whitsundays, Byron Bay, Port Macquarie, Yamba and Forster
• Citytrain connections between Robina (Gold Coast) and Brisbane or vv on passes Sydney, Brisbane or Melbourne to Cairns
• 50% discount on one Outback journey in Queensland and one Outback journey in NSW
• 50% discount to travel back to point of origin, or a point in between, in NSW and Queensland
• Bonus of one free Queensland Outback journey on either the Spirit of the Outback, The Westlander or The Inlander
• Free same day connection from CityTrain services in Brisbane to long distance train services

Please call the number on the contact us page to pre-book any journeys onto your pass in advance. If journeys are reserved at the same time as purchasing the pass, only fuel or upgrade surcharges will be levied. If you wish to pre-book sectors at a later date, a small per journey per person charge will then be made.

Passport numbers are required when booking all passes.
