Chinese Train Stations

Beijing Railway Station is located in central Beijing, just next to Jianguomen. Trains enter and leave to the scenery of a former Beijing city gate at Dongbianmen. It has train departures for many cities connected to the rail network throughout China such as Harbin, Tianjin, Qingdao and Shanghai as well as a number of foreign destinations including Moscow, Pyongyang and Ulaan Bator.

Beijing Rail Station

Beijing West Railway Station is situated in western Beijing's Xuanwu District. It is one of the largest railway stations in Asia. It was expanded in 2000 and is now able to handle 300,000 passengers per day and also had a vast amount parking lots added. Trains departing from Beijing West leave for destinations to the West and South, except for coastal destinations, which are served by Beijing Railway Station. The well-known Jingjiu Railway, or Beijing-Kowloon Railway line, begins from this railway station. Since the opening of the Qingzang railway in 2006, it is possible to catch a direct train to Lhasa from this station.

Xian Railway Station is located in the northeast of Xi'an City, which is just outside the Xi'an ancient city walls. Xian Railway Station is a major stop for trains heading either west or east and the line actually splits here. Some trains head north to Beijing and others east to Shanghai.

Xian Rail Station

Shanghai Railway Station is the main railway station in Shanghai, which is situated  to the North of the city centre. Shanghai Railway Station generally serves north-south and westward locations. It is the last stop of the main Beijing-Shanghai railway line and offers up to eight Z non stop, deluxe trains each day.

It also has T trains (high speed trains that only stop at main stations) to Dalian, Beijing, Urumqi, Nanjing, Yangzhou, Hangzhou, Xian, Lanzhou, Jinan, Tongling, Tianjin, Taizhou and Ningbo. K trains (fast) serve Guiyang, Changsha, Guangzhou, Kunming, Wuhan, Yinchuan, Xining, Nanchang, Zhanjiang, Fuzhou, Xiamen, Yichang, Chongqing, Fuyang, Shenyang, Shijiazhuang, Baotou, Qingdao, Tianjin, Taiyuan, Harbin, and Jilin.
