The East Coast Discovery Pass: Six months of new adventures every day

The East Coast Discovery Pass allows 6 months Economy Class Seat travel on Countrylink and Queensland Rail services in one direction only, either North or South, with unlimited stopovers between the locations endorsed on the ticket.

Use of this pass must begin within six months of the date of issue and be completed within six months from the first validity date (first date of travel). The pass is available on Mainline Countrylink and Queensland Rail, East Coast Rail and Integrated Coach services only.
Travel on Sydney City Rail services is only allowed in conjunction with a connecting Countrylink service. Travel is not available on Brisbane CityTrain, Melbourne Met or V-Line services. Travel is permitted on the Cairns Tilt Train on payment of a surcharge. Reservations are compulsory and, as many of Countrylink and Queensland Rail's services are heavily patronized year round, arranging reservations as far in advance as practical will ensure maximum benefit from the Pass.
Economy seating on Countrylink and Queensland Rail services can be upgraded to first class seating or sleeper cabins, subject to availability and relevant surcharges.
East Coast Discovery Pass Benefits

- Free travel on coastal coach connections that link the main east coast rail line with Eden, Forster, Port Maccquarie, Yamba, Byron Bay, Surfers Paradise, the Fraser Coast, the Whitsundays and Yeppoon.
- One journey on Brisbane's Citytrain service when in possession of a valid Traveltrain ticket to connect with a Traveltrain service.
- One journey on Sydney's Cityrail service with a valid Countrylink ticket to connect with a Countrylink service.
- Exceptional value for money.
- Freedom and flexibility - travel at your own pace and hop on or off the train when and where you like.
A reservation and a valid ticket is required for each individual journey.

Please contact us to pre-book any journeys onto your pass in advance. If journeys are reserved at the same time as purchasing the pass, only fuel or upgrade surcharges will be levied. If you wish to pre-book sectors at a later date, a small per journey per person charge will then be made.
Passport numbers are required when booking all passes.
